    About the artist

Wannes Cools is a Belgian artist living and working in Ghent after graduating from Sint Lucas school of arts in Antwerp in 2016. In his landscape paintings, the artist investigates different layers of questions. The work touches on abstract art as well as landscapes as concept or content of the work. It also questions painting as a medium in art today.

Wannes attempts to distance his role as painter by using only prefabricated materials. It makes the viewer think about pop art. However, this is only a superficial impression as in depth the work reveals other meanings.

    About the artist

Zoé van den Boogaerde lives and works in Brussels. Her artistic practice is multidisciplinary, passing from collage to painting and scenography. By assembling and diverting forms and spaces, she composes and generates landscapes of her own. These landscapes are inhabited by forms inspired by objects found in the city. She collects and meticulously archives these materials, usually hidden by walls, before representing them in her paintings. These forms reveal a presence and an intervention in the perspectives; they tell a story.
