OUR MISSION

DEMAIN started from the wish to bring change. Complex, opaque, non-eco-friendly and often perceived as elitist, the art world needed a shake-up. 

We decided to select and present talented artists who are living and working in Belgium. Through our expertise and network, we pick out artists who may define the art scene of tomorrow. Our aim: highlight the dynamic local art scene and remind you that inspiration is just around the corner. At the same time we offer a place of discovery for up-and-coming artists. 

We are active in the pre-gallery period, a crucial moment in an artist's career. Through our platform we wish to have a real impact by offering visibility within our network and financial support through the sale of art works. We are proud to have launched the careers of 8 artists who are now represented by galleries in Belgium and internationally. We are constantly looking for new talent.

Through our digital platforms - website and instagram - we offer a unique behind-the-scenes of the artist's universe and full transparency regarding prices of the works. We also offer many opportunities to discover the art works in real life through temporary exhibitions and studio visits. We believe that meeting an artist in his/her place of creation is an unforgettable experience that transforms your perspective of the work.

DEMAIN was founded by two young professionals in the Belgian art scene, with experiences in both the gallery and the museum world. Florence Derck, one of Belgium’s 40 under 40 and former director at Gladstone Gallery Brussels.
